Fresh Living is proud to have been a part of the 56th Annual Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner held Friday, February 19, 2016 to stage the VIP reception with furniture supplied by our good friends at International Furniture Wholesalers (IFW). Fresh Living and IFW have teamed up to volunteer our time and resources for the second year in a row for this fundraiser to help do our part to give back and be a part of something great as all proceeds from this event are distributed back into the community. This year’s dinner featured Joe Montana, a retired American NFL quarterback with career highlights that include four Super Bowl wins in as many Super Bowl appearances and three Super Bowl MVP awards. Kevin Pillar and Chris Colabello of the Toronto Blue Jays, Chris Jones of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Jamie Campbell with Sportsnet joined Montana on this unforgettable evening with Charissa Thompson with Fox Sports Live as the emcee for this incredible evening.
Since 1928, the Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon has been a vital part of our city of bridges. With its mandate and motto of “Serving the Community’s Greatest Need”, the club strives to raise funds that can help those with nowhere else to turn. Nearly $1 million has been donated annually to causes directed towards education, health, youth, and community here in Saskatoon. The impact that this club has on our city is evident everywhere you look. Hundreds of non-profit organizations have benefited from the financial support that the club provides, not to mention the countless volunteer hours the members put into bettering the community.
The Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon serves a wide range of programs throughout the Saskatoon area and has been instrumental throughout the years to create and maintain some very successful fundraising initiatives which in addition to the Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Dinner include Telemiracle, Kinsmen Home Lottery, and the Kinsmen Car Awards. These fundraisers have allowed the club to give back to the community through direct donations and also fund service projects that have direct impact on the quality of life of many.
Donations from those that support the Kinsmen and their mission are eligible for a charitable receipt and donors can give knowing that their gift will continue serving the community well into the future, whether it is an annual gift, one time support, or through a planned legacy gift.
